Cooper's is high & dry. Front "porch" area flooded but main store is intact and dry. That means he'll be back in business within just days from this spring rise. Make sure you stop in and buy a beer! ~Brett, Rocheport

I find Coopers to be a mixed bag. It's an amazing gathering place for some great eclectic people. There's never a shortage of folks to talk to around the camp fire, and the food at the Tai kitchen CAN NOT BE BEAT..seriously. I did find however that they were strange folks the time my wife and I went there and wanted to sit on a log near the fire and were told our little 5 pound lap dog that she never lets out of her lap-would have to go. We were told it was an eating area ? (No tables before us, no one eating and it made zero sense) A little nervous guy jumps out from nowhere makes a declaration and then slips back into his little hole not to be seen again. Well, that ruined the night right there, we left, and have since come back once without the dog. You can have beer, but not hard liquor... Interesting... All in all though ? If you're ... We're from the KC area and we think we know GOOD bbq...try it out at Cooper's landing. He makes great brisket and tender bbq pork. We were so hungry and the portions were YUM. I think the sides are store bought, but the red potato salad and coleslaw balanced out the huge meat portions just right.

I stayed here for one night in August. It was located right on the water with incredible sweeping views of the river. There was a great vibe there. They had live music (over by about 10), and were serving excellent thai food. I would highly reccomend staying there.

We didn't camp at Cooper's Landing but I was wondering... (those of you who might know)...are the portable toilets all that are available there for campers and bikers alike?

Do they have live music all of the time?... View Full Comment
