Great stay after a long day of biking. Very clean accommodations! Cath the Inn Keeper was fabulous as she even through our cloths in the dryer. I will be sure to return when I ride again next summer.

When we booked the Hartsburg Inn, Cath was very helpful in telling us what eating options would be open right in Hartsburg, since we were walking. Our room had a private outside entrance, and it was so relaxing in her hammock watching the many yellow finches coming to her feeders.
It was Thursday night, so the Big Muddy had 75 cent tacos – delicious. The next morning we passed on the light breakfast at the B&B as an excuse to eat at Dotty’s Cafe – yummy.

On a Katy Trail bike trip in early June our group of two cycling couples spent a night at the Hartsburg Inn. Our accommodations consisted of the entire walk-in lower level of Cath’s home (Cath Sherrer-proprietor), plus a patio sitting area with potted flowers. We enjoyed a private entrance , super clean two-room space, wonderful shower, cuddly towels, comfortable beds, etc, etc.~all at a price well below other places. And did I mention CLEAN!! I appreciate the painted concrete floor with throw rugs because you can SEE that it is spotlessly clean. A small basket of white washclothes is available for use on our bikes or whatever needs a wipe down. With the window AC unit we could choose the temperature we wanted and we slept like babies. A refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot and toaster are supplied along with plenty of hospitality. A ...

We stopped here and had a great lunch and also sampled a few of their wines. They readily let you taste their different wines to decide which one to order. Our food was uniformly good and the tables outside in the shade were a great place to recharge before setting out again on the trail.

We stopped in Hartsburg on our way to Jefferson City. It had rained all day and we were wet and cold and looking for a cup of warm coffee. It was Monday and everything was closed. As we pondered what to do as we stood in the rain, this nice lady came out of her house and invited us in out of the rain for some coffee. It was Jeanette. We sat and talked, drank coffee and learned more about Hartsburg and her B&B built as a hotel back in the late 1800's. We will stop by the next time through Hartsburg. Thank you Jeanette for your hospitality and warmth that will not go forgotten.
