It's only been two weeks since the last newsletter, but I am sending out this special edition to let you know about an opportunity to provide your input on the Machens extension.


Your Input Sought on Machens

As first mentioned here over a year ago, the Missouri Department of Natural Resources plans to extend the eastern end of the Katy Trail to Machens, some 13 miles past the current trail's end in St Charles.  Unfortunately, several issues have delayed this extension.

I just talked to a reporter from the St Louis Post Dispatch who is writing an article about the Machens extension.  She is looking for input from anyone who has opinions about extending the Katy Trail to Machens.  If you'd like to share your views for this article, please contact Valerie Hahn of the Post Dispatch at 636-255-7211 or 888-272-1162, or email vschremp@post-dispatch.com

Valerie expects the article to run soon, hopefully this Sunday.  When the article is published, I'll add a link to it from the BikeKatyTrail home page.
