Not much more to add... a great place to take a break and get some hot food. And yes, the cheeseburgers are quite wonderful. $4.75 for a filling meal.

Thanks goodness for Lucy's. Nothing open between McKittrick and McBaine on a Tuesday. Stopped for a late lunch after several hours of gatoraide and gel pacs. I must have looked trashed out becuase they kept the cool water coming in buckets and the food service was quick.

Definetly the best looking tree in the state. This tree has seen many things throughout history. I can't believe it is over 300 years old! If you visit this Burr Oak you won't regret it and it's graceful image will stick in your mind for many months to follow. We should throw it a birthday party for its 350th birthday.

I drove by the Big Tree today.. I'm actually trying to get more information about the tree. Does anyone know who owns the land it's on? I noticed that it's marker has been vandalized ):

We can vouch for previous entries on the burgers at Lucy's, excellent! Also, the beer is ice cold and the jukebox has something for everyone. If you "Can't Get No, Satisfaction" at Lucy's, there's something wrong with you. Just a great, roadhouse kind of place with very friendly locals and proprietors.
