We rode through Mokane on July 6th. We stopped to purchase gatorade at the restaurant/convenience store in town. After purchasing two large bottles of Gatorade I asked the clerk if I could fill up our water bottles. She was very unfriendly replying that she had water for sale. She did tell me that i could use her bathroom to refill bottles but the faucet was too low to get a bottle under it. Everyone in the town did not seem very friendly to bikers. Maybe it was an off day but this was the only town along the entire trail that left a bad taste in our mouths.

We wanted to relax a few extra days on our Katy trip so we took advantage of their shuttle service and stayed at the Loganberry B&B in Fulton, just 17 hilly miles north of Mokane. We momentarily considered biking to Fulton but the highway is two lane and with lots of turns and hills would not be good for me to try. The B&B and town are both lovely. Fulton has a nice bike trail that goes nearly the entire circumference of the town. There are two college campuses and lots of eateries. Enjoy this little side trip!!

Great place to stop for the hiker. If the sign says "closed" go up to the window on Saturday morning and they will likely invite you in for coffee. Good coffee. Cheap prices. I had walked 6 miles from Tebbetts and was hungry so the coffee was great until I could get more breakfast later. Very friendly folks.
