Had a great time at the hotel. We were so tired from our ride...we showered, ordered a pizza and lights out. It is a beautiful hotel that we really enjoyed in the morning. The breakfast was ok...waffles and cereal. Staff was helpful and friendly. Stored our bikes down stairs. A wonderful experience

I have come upon an old signatures booklet of my grandmothers' that has the Katy logo on it. It is about 2and3/4"x 4and3/4".The interesting thing about it is the front cover. It has an inscription that says The Mexican Invading Party dated January 25th,1898.
I tried to find any information about any such activity, but I could not find anything. Maybe one of your staff or old timers could enlighten me about any such occassion. It also has many signatures of dignitaries of other railroads.
I plan to be on vacation during the 3rd an 4th week of July visiting friends in Oklahoma and maybe stop in Denison to show someone this curiosity. Please let me know if you can give me any information about it. Thank you very much.... View Full Comment

Subject:  Maxine's Rooms for Rent (Sedalia)

Maxine and Pete are great hosts. When the weather deteriorated and there were tornado warnings in the area Maxine called us on the trail and offered to come pick us up. After a warning by the local police that the weather was unstable and a tornado had touched down about 2 miles from us we took her up on her offer. Maxine and Pete came to get us with their horse trailer and there was plenty of room for our 4 bikes. Maxine and Pete really went above and beyond to help us out.

Subject:  B & L Shuttle (Sedalia)
Started: Jun 17 2010 2:56PM by Nancy & Bill , Festus, MO
Bob picked us up at the Sedalia Amtrak and took us to Clinton to begin our walk of the whole trail. He was right on time, having checked in with us several times that day. He and Lucy provided several other shuttles for us from trail heads with no lodging facilities. Bob is professional and courteous and has a wonderful laugh. He even called us one day to warn us of a storm with hail headed our way. If you need a shuttle, call B&L.

Stop here everytime we go thru Sedalia!!! Food is fresh & you get completely different options compared to "fast-food". Great to always find this little diner open!!!
