On Wednesday April 27 Governor Blunt has backed out of the agreement made by the previous DNR director to save the Boonville Bridge. To allow the UP Railroad to remove the bridge is very unfortunate for the citizens of Missouri and the KATY Trail users.

This bridge would have been a big draw for the Katy Trail. It is a sad day... the bridge should have been saved for future (cycling) generations.

THIS ISSUE IS NOT OVER - the governor's decision may have been illegal and/or unconstitutional. Lawyers are currently working through this. If the bridge reverts to the railroad, it could threaten the entire Katy Trail
