Just wanted to alert everyone that we parked at the N. Jefferson trailhead near Jefferson City on Friday, October 7. We were riding about four hours and returned to find that about a 1/4 a tank of gas had been siphoned out of our vehicle. Might want to think about parking at the Hartsburg trailhead instead of the more open one at N. Jefferson.

There were also several cars broken into & purses, CDs etc stolen during that same timeframe. If you park there, you need to make sure you don't leave those things in plain sight. We've been parking there in the evenings for several years & haven't had any problems.
