My son and I are planning to ride Sedalia to Machens beginning 5/16/11. How are trail conditions? The MO State Parks web site only has the closing from MM 178.3 (Rocheport) to MM 182.2 (Davisdale Conservation Area). Any other detours not posted?
Thanks!

No others, enjoy your trip!

Is there a detour for this closed section? And if so is it marked with sign?

Bob from Sedalia on 5/17/2011 4:45:22 PM:
Can anybody confirm the construction is complete around Rocheport? That would mean the trail is clear without obstacles/construction from Clinton to Machens?

From the DNR website just a few minutes ago:

1/12/11 -- Due to construction on the Moniteau Creek Bridge in Rocheport, the trail is closed from MM 178.3 (Rocheport) to MM 182.2 (Davisdale Conservation Area). During construction, trail users are being rerouted to Hwy. 40 and will need to use extra caution. The detour route is posted at the Rocheport and New Franklin trailheads. While following the detour, trail users may experience: travel over city streets and highways; motor vehicles traveling at high speeds; uneven or loose gravel on road surfaces; and narrow roads and lanes.
This section of trail is anticipated to reopen in late May 2011
