We had 7 riders of various riding ability and ages ranging from 8 to 53. Our goal was to ride to the Cliff Manor B&B in Jefferson City. Two rode from Booneville, I rode from Rocheport, and 4 (including the two 8 year olds) rode from Providence. One rented a bike at the trail head in Rocheport from Trailside Bike Rentals. It was quick and easy and very reasonable. We stopped at Turner's Cafe & Mercantle (formerly Dotty's)in Hartsburg. Friendly service and everything we ordered was good. They have "better than McDonald's fries" and awesome blackberry cobbler. (It was so good we stopped there on our ride back the next day just for these.) Loved the hospitality at the B&B and first class, cycling worthy breakfast. Great view of the bridge crossing the river and of the capitol just a few blocks away. The trail was well packed and relatively smooth. I took lots of pics of the historic stops, Eagles Bluff, changing scenery from a the open trail, canopy of trees, bridges, creeks, bluffs, wildlife (people, flowers, birds, turtles, snakes, lizards, and a bobcat), the river, and farms. The condo portapotty at Cooper's Corner was a welcome stop - clean and creative inside and out. After returning the bike we walked down toward the tunnel and ate at Mulberry Grill & Bakery for a wood fired pizza. It was great, just wish they had Dr. Pepper to compliment it. : ) All in all it was a most enjoyable trip, steady ride, peaceful, and time to reflect and connect. Highly recommended on all accounts.
