Does anyone know if there is a place to camp, or at least pitch a small tent near Weldon Spring? Planning a trip through there in Sept.

You may need dosimetry if you camp overnight around there. Defiance, Augusta west or St. Charles east would be less toxic.

Weldon Springs Conservation area may allow camping, I'm not sure. Plants in Weldon Springs processed uranium ore during WWII and there is large uranium containment site not far from the Trail. Klondike Park just east of Augusta is a great place to camp. Nice shower house and a camp kitchen with a two burner stove, sinks and electric outlets.
