Don't forget to stop by Dottys Cafe on the 24th. Have a meal or just stop and rest. You are always welcome here. We will be having a special menu that day. Thank you for your business :)

Excuse my ignorance, but what town is Dotty's in?

Anonymous on 6/23/2015 8:32:45 AM:
Hartsburg

Terry from Festus on 6/26/2015 11:45:33 PM:

MAH from Blue Springs on 6/28/2015 6:50:50 PM:

All the questions about the trail, all the advice for all the riders, and all the money spent to participate in the DNR ride and this is it? Good chicken salad? Speaks highly of Dotty's Café, but that's it? Three people liked the food at Dotty's. Two thought the chicken salad was wonderful. Amazing.

I don't think there is any requirement to file a report with BikeKatyTrail.com if you participate in the DNR ride. This thread was started by Dotty to let people know about being open that day of the ride, hence posts about the food there from some that did stop there...

Okay. Thanks. Good grasp of the obvious.

Jim from St Thomas on 6/29/2015 7:29:43 PM:
So Mr. or Ms. Anonymous, What would you like to see in a thread started by Dotty informing riders that she would be open and welcoming riders? A complete report from every rider that participated in the DNR ride?

Anonymous on 6/29/2015 8:49:01 PM:
Not at all Mr. or Ms. Jim. It was a mere observation that will all the excitement and questions ahead of time there was no big Wow afterwards concerning the ride except the chicken salad at Dottys. That's certainly alright isn't it??

I am sorry. I should have posted more. The ride was awesome as always. There are many reasons why I love the ride. The trail is beautiful and well groomed. The biggest reason I love the ride is the incredible staff, volunteers, and the friendships you build with other riders. With all the rain we have received the staff did miracles with the trail. The winds did not cooperate and gave us some delightful headwinds. The storm in Marthaville Thursday night was memorable. Half of the riders were rookies and it is sad they were unable to complete the ride Friday. I plan to be back next year. The trail, the people, and the chicken salad beckon me.

I am sorry I forgot to sign the above post. Please forgive the confusion. Did I mention all the great people you meet along the way?

cheri from fort collins, co on 6/30/2015 7:38:36 AM:
We stopped by for breakfast, the best blueberry pancakes ever. I would plan this as a stop if you are driving through. Hartsburg also has to be seen.

Anonoh on 7/1/2015 7:01:40 AM:
So many people punted on Friday and didn't finish the KT ride? Seriously?

Terry from Festus on 7/1/2015 10:23:13 PM:
The DNR closed down the ride due to rider safety due to more storms in forecast and due to trail conditions. Many had a very long Thursday night due to flooded tents and other issues due to the storms. I heard of 2 going ahead and finishing the ride.

Anonoh on 7/2/2015 8:01:36 AM:
Can we get a general count on how many finished the ride on Fri? 2 out of 300+ seems a little light.

Jim from St Thomas on 7/2/2015 6:10:21 PM:
123.37

Anonoh on 7/3/2015 3:09:08 PM:
That .37 is a child I guess.

Jim from St Thomas on 7/3/2015 4:55:21 PM:
No.....that .37 is my IQ on a good day.

Anonoh on 7/4/2015 8:16:09 AM:
I rode this DNR ride in 2010 an if I had planned an traveled to get there an spent the last 4 days riding, I would have finished the ride especially if it was my first KT DNR ride. I thought the last day was only 20-25 miles too. I would think maybe at least 100 finished?
