Question about riding the trail into Columbia...

If you come into Columbia from McBaine on the MKT...it looks like you cross Scott Road.

Would it be safe to ride a few blocks south of the trail on Scott Road to the Break Time Gas Station at the corner of Scott and Vawter School Road??

I am trying to find a gas station/Casey's or something similar (even an ATM) on the south south of town as you enter to use as a "control point" for a ride. I need a place where a person could get a dated/timed receipt of some sort.

Thanks so much.

Yes, it's safe. You'll want to take the MKT to the Scott Blvd. trailhead. The trailhead is divided into two parts. On the south side of Scott Blvd. there is a playground and small mountain bike area. A tunnel runs under Scott Blvd. and it takes you to the north side of the trailhead, where there is a restroom and soccer fields. You'll want to use the tunnel, go to the north side and use the wide sidewalk (pedway) to go to the BreakTime at the intersection of Scott. Blvd. and Vawter School Rd.
