The spot dedicated for primitive camping is about 20 yards of the trail. Small and in the trees so blocks wind, lowlands and subject to mosquitos. Go up the hill about 30 yards and there is an open area where I went I had a nice evening. Would be less enjoyable if multiple parties choose this spot on the same night - but reminder that it is a shared area and I would be welcoming.

I loved this place. It's hard to miss. Between the area right off the trail and the large open field right up the hill, you should be a pretty happy camper.
