We just got done riding the entire trail. Every aspect of it was awesome, except one thing...

Back in January we made reservations for all our nights on the trail. In the beginning of June we called and confirmed all our reservations. One place, the Elysian Fields B&B in Defiance we could not reach. Over the next two weeks we left 5 voicemails asking to confirm our reservation. We never got return call. We showed up the night of our reservation and were rudely told they they were just too busy to return calls. And we were told we didn't have a reservation. So, we had to try to find a place to stay on a Saturday night.

I strongly suggest that you look at other lodging options.

That is not a good way to do business. We usually try to get email confirmation and verify the date, length of stay, etc on the email. If I had not put money down and couldn't get a returned call, I think I would have been looking elsewhere before the trip.

For the Katy you need a Plan A and a Plan B. When there is no verified contact, go to Plan B which is usually a generic hotel but off the trail a bit.
