I'm going from Sedalia to Hermann or Hermann to Sedalia. Is there any difference? Which would you recommend?

Thanks in advance

I would ride West to East. That way you get the uphill grades found on the west end of the trail out of the way at the beginning of your ride.

I agree West to East. Sedalia to Booneville is very pretty but can be a bit of a grind at times.

I am taking the PM amtrak train from STL to Sedalia this week, camp at Sedalia fairgrounds. Bike to Easley and camp first day. Bike to McKittrick second day and stay at the Birdhouse. Bike back to STL the last day. These distances are challenging, but beautiful countryside and geology.

In my opinion, for either direction the wind can be in our face and there is always some sort of slight uphill, but either direction can be great.
