Today is World Kindness Day, a good day to acknowledge the kindness of three gentlemen -- two trail riders and a driver -- who lent us a wrench and assisted with a flat tire repair at the Medford Trail Head on Friday Nov 2. They were the only people we met all day, and they saved our trip. If any of them happen to read this, THANK YOU again.
About the trail: we rode from Pleasant Hill to Windsor. It's a beautiful, remote trail. The surface was a little rough in spots from P Hill to Chilhowee, but in very good condition the rest of the way.
The warm and welcoming Chilhowee Corner Store is the only source of water or supplies on the trail, so pack accordingly, and (facepalm) double check your toolkit.
In Windsor, we spent the night at Kim's Cabins, which was clean and comfortable and had good coffee. After picking up a wrench and a new spare tube at the local hardware store, we headed east on the Katy the next day.
