can anyone tell me Do you need to obtain permission to camp at State fair camp grounds in Sedalia?

Anonymous on 6/10/2018 4:16:41 PM:
i camped there may 26th.
I is suppose to be $12 for cyclist.
However, I didn't want to camp among the RV's, with their stupid dogs ( there was some sort of best-in-show event).
I ended up camping at the north east section away from the road. Had my own bathroom. The guy never came by to collect my money. There isn't a booth to pay for camping. Some guy just drives around in his truck collecting money.
The shower facility was excellent.

plenty of room to camp, never heard of a need for a reservation. i would just check to see if there is another big event going on at the fairgrounds just in case.
i have stayed and they guy with the truck shows up for payment
other times, no one shows up.
very nice grass to tent upon.
there was a great 4H animal event last time i camped.
stroll about the fairgrounds to see some pretty cool buildings (and maybe a lot of goats or horses like I did).
Agree - showers hit the spot!
safe travels!

There is an overflow tent area west of the road and closer to the trail. When the main area fills this area is opened. Met a couple riding from 10 Sleep WYO to Key West camping there during the state fair. Their trip log is on crazyguyonabike.com
