I will be driving into Clinton from the Las Vegas area later this year and I will need to park my vehicle there as my brother will be coming in from the East coast to St. Charles and shuttling to Clinton to ride the trail. Can someone please advise if there is secure or relatively secure parking for our vehicles in both Clinton and St. Charles?

On the west end, I would contact the Clinton senior center (660-885-3482) and/or their police department ((660) 885-2679) for that advice. The senior center is very close to the trailhead and has a large parking area.

On the St. Charles end I would ask the shuttle provider for advice.

West end: The Clinton Community Center is collocated with the Senior Center and contains the gym and swimming pool. There are also showers. There is some camping available on the center grounds. There is designated parking for trail users at the center. Check in with the front desk and complete the trail user form. From the center parking lot, you can take the off-street bike trail to the trailhead off Highway 52, about 1/2 mile. I've parked there several times on extended trips without incident. Clinton's pretty easy to navigate if you need trail supplies, restaurants, lodging, bike shops and so on.
East end: There is open parking in St Charles adjacent to the trail, which is close to lodging, shops, restaurants, etc. Bike Stop Cafe is nearby; it offers shuttle service if you're interested. The trail runs through historic St Charles: Frontier Park, Lewis and Clark Memorial, boat house, etc. Haven't parked there but the area is host to lots of community events and kind of old town; very different from the city of St Charles.

At St Charles you can park at the trailhead behind the Country Inn and Suites. One of the shuttle services picks up there at the white gazebo. I do it every year. As in 4 times so far. Super safe. Also a 5th time I parked in Clinton. Totally safe. I drive from Phoenix every year and my brother drives from Florida. Our annual trip. It’s amazing every time. We always stay at the Country Inn the night before and after. It’s also amazing. Have fun. ??
