I get to Missouri each year and ride the trail from Clinton to St. Charles. Recently become interested in Geocaching. Wonder if any one has a comment on the caches,if any, that can be found on the trail.

I think you may find this link helpful on finding caches:

Also be sure to follow the Missouri Parks rules on geocaching found here:

A very nice man by the name of Bill Stein of Jefferson City has some experience with Geocaching in and around the KATY Trail and Hartsburg. You can contact Bill at Willst1772@aol.com At the very least you will encounter a very interesting parson.

Caching along the trail itself is pretty sparse. If you zoom in enough on the map on geocaching.com the trail itself will show up as a line or dotted line (actual trail on satellite view), just follow it and you can see the ones that are close to or at the trailheads. There are not many though for as long as the trail is. Some cities like Sedalia have some but you are riding through town to get them, though riding through Sedalia is part of the trail.

What would be ideal is if virtual or earth caches were set up along the trail, that way there is no physical cache to maintain or turn up missing, people stop and take pictures and or collect information at interesting places along the trail rather than riding by. I have only collected a couple of caches along the trail. Happy Caching.
