Sadly, the Chowda House closed its doors earlier this summer as one of the first casualties of the stunted tourist industry this year. Record gas prices have been blamed for the failing tourist businesses on Main Street. The Bella Garden Cafe is open and appreciates the support of the Cycling Community, welcoming bikers to the outdoor cafe just off the Katy Trail at 524 S Main across from the former Chowda House site.

Sad to see yet another business close on Main St.in St. Charles ---- instead of blamimg the gas prices , and the lost of the tourist trade----- why not be more receptive to local business ---- and stay open later than 5:00pm
