Every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in October, the charming town of Hermann celebrates its German heritage with a massive party. Enjoy German food, wineries, biergartens, music, and dancing. If you can't get here for Oktoberfest, you can experience Hermann's German hospitality all year long, at the many B&B's, restaurants, wineries, and even a brewery and distillery. This fun and unique town is not to be missed!
Everyone loves the Katy Trail in the fall, giving you a perfect opportunity to combine a trail ride with one of Missouri's best known and best loved cultural celebrations. If arriving by bike, near the McKittrick trailhead you will head south along highway 19 for about two miles to get to Hermann. Look for the signs and ramp along teh trail, just west of the highway.
The train is another popular way to get to Hermann. Amtrak offers regular train service to Hermann. But you'll want to make reservations well in advance, because the trains do fill up with Oktoberfest revelers.
