Hermann Riverfront Park in Hermann

I really enjoyed camping here recently.
The pros - the views and access to main street for food. I loved having the sunset river view out of my tent window and being able to ride/walk to main street for Tin Mill beer/food and ice cream and hitting the coffee shop easily on my way out of town. I liked the ambience of the town and trains passing by (after all I am riding the KATY).
The cons - I was there on a friday evening and could hear live music in the early evening and three freight trains came through the night and were really loud and shook the ground a bit. I enjoyed all that ambience to be honest but a few people camping next to me werent amused by it when i talked to them the next morning. The bathroom is also a bit of a walk from the tent camping area. The exposure to town and parking lot leave you feeling a little exposed but everything was safe and easy especially when other campers showed up.

All tent sites have power but not all have water. My site had a water spicket but no running water. Three tent sites have a small pavilion. The remainder are in the open. Don’t despair about the water. The park is not that big. Just find a site that’s not being used and check their water. I wouldn’t count on the men’s room sink because it has one faucet and dispenses hot water. I found that weird.

Decent city park. It has a playground, pavilions, restrooms with showers. It has spots for RVs as well as tents. 15.00 cash. Envelope and drop slot. Pay at the restroom building. Skip the Wharf St address on the Katy trip planner. Use 118 W13th St. The park and tent area is next to a busy road so, be prepared for that. There is a Casey’s c-store on that busy road. You’ll see it through the trees from the restroom. Bike or walk. Your choice.
