Anthony from Maine on 11/27/2019 11:10 AM:
Enjoyed my stay here very much and Jerry was a wonderful host. Had the house to myself, slept well and it was very quiet and peaceful. Room and bathroom were very clean. Prepared an excellent breakfast and shared some very interesting local history. Will definitely be back as I want to hike the entire trail in the future.

Our group stayed at the KATY Junction B&B recently and it was awesome. Jerry is the nicest and most helpful person you’ll know. He certainly knows what excellent customer service is. Rooms are stylishly appointed, clean with comfortable beds, and the breakfast was surperb. He’s a great chef. Jerry is also the town’s historian (official or unofficial, he knows the area). Stop and stay a spell. Ride safe.

We had a wonderful stay with Jerry on our girl's trip along the Katy Trail! He prepared a delicious hearty dinner and breakfast for us, entertained us with local history stories, and helped us get our bikes cleaned up after a rainy day on the trail. He has a lovely, clean and comfortable b&b.

Jerry was a great host. He greeted us with a hose and cleaned our bikes for us. He had interesting stories and is an awesome cook. Our room was comfortable and quiet. He went out of his way to make our stay enjoyable. We would stay again, for sure.

Anonymous from Texas on 10/05/2018 06:43 PM:
Just stayed with Jerry last week. Great guy. He will run out in the middle of the night to rescue folks. Would definitely stay with his B&B again.

Anonymous on 11/03/2017 08:31 AM:
We stayed here because of the positive comments. Jerry's B&B house is about 100 years old, as are many of the B&B's across the country. However, Jerry's smells like it's 100 years old. It could definitely stand a thorough cleaning. I was even dubious about the cleanliness of the sheets and towels. Jerry told us he likes to provide everything he can think of for his guests. He did provide everything, but everything was tainted with dirt, especially his running stream of racist remarks. I will never stay here again.

BikerBoy from Maryville, IL on 11/03/2017 03:10 PM:
Wow, I can't believe I just read that. I have stayed at nearly all the B&Bs on the trail, and Jerry's is one of the best. The place is kept very clean compared to many, more modern homes. The wood floors and the staircase all appear to be original, but in very good shape. And I have never heard a negative word come from Jerry (who sounds uncannily like Paul Harvey).

CurtM from Fort Worth TX on 11/06/2017 01:00 PM:
Having stayed at Jerry's B&B a few days ago on Oct 30th, Anonymous's comments are totally unfounded. Jerry was friendly, accommodating and gracious, and his home was clean and inviting. On the morning of my departure, he even caught up with his other Oct 30 guests down the trail to make sure they got the items they'd left behind. Anyone who signs a critical comment on a public forum as "Anonymous" has no merit.

Mike Hobart from Russellville KY on 11/07/2017 12:55 PM:
Whoever “Anonymous” is; has really misrepresented a wonderful person and a great B&B. I stayed with Jerry last week and the place was very clean, had a comfortable bed and did NOT smell. Jerry is a retired police officer and Air Force reservist who has not only served his country but community. He loves his country, his community and his fellow man. I met him for the first time in my life last week and after staying with him and indulging in numerous conversations; I never heard him say anything that could be interpreted as racist. I’m sorry that someone has cruelly and anonymously attacked a fine human being and a great B&B. He has had hundreds if not thousands of visitors and most of them are repeat visitors. I would not hesitate to stay there again and if you give any credence to Anonymous I would suggest that you read on down further and see if you don’t find positive review after positive review.

Dr. C. Michael Hobart

I just wanted to be another person to un-Anonymously say the Anonymous got it wrong. Jerry is a great host with a great place.

KatyFan from Chesterfield, Mo on 02/24/2018 07:31 AM:
Plan to stay with Jerry in April. Will give you my objective view.

John Clark from Jackson Heights,NYC on 02/25/2018 11:14 AM:
Honey, the term "racist" has lost its meaning years ago... please try to be a little more clever next time.

1of3KatyTrailRider from Kirkwoo on 05/27/2018 01:25 PM:
I just read the last comment from Anonymous and was a appalled. Whoever this Anonymous is, is greatly mistaken. There were 3 of us who stayed at Jerry's B&B first part of Oct 2017. Our stay was wonderful! The place was clean, the pie and breakfast prepared by Jerry was to die for. Jerry, as a host and person, was kind, generous, told great stories. I would recommend Jerry's B&B in a heatbeat.

Globe Hotel Bed and Breakfast from Hartsburg on 08/05/2018 05:01 PM:
Hey there! I just have to make a comment here. We have had hundreds of guests over the past few years who have typically spent the night before with Jerry in Pilot Grove. Not once has anyone ever said anything about the cleanliness of his house nor has there ever been any mention of him making racial comments. I'm sorry, anonymous, if you had a bad experience, and frankly, I'm baffled at where your perspective might be coming from. Perhaps if you weren't anonymous there might be some way for Jerry to make amends with you. Leaia Clervi

My dad and I stayed at the Katy Junction B&B Saturday June 9th. After an incredibly hot day on the trail filled with flat tires and mechanical difficulties Jerry's B&B was a sight for sore eyes. He brought us ice water as we sat in the garden to cool off. He helped us get our bikes into storage once we had recovered from the heat. We stayed in the room with twin beds and it was perfect. We lucked out for dinner, Jerry's church was having their annual fish fry and invited us. It was a great dinner and great company. Sunday morning Jerry made omelettes for us. They were delicious! A great meal to start another day of biking! Thanks Jerry :)

My son and I stayed with Jerry and I can’t say enough good things. We rode this past Memorial Day weekend and we were in rough shape from the heat when we arrived. He helped us get our bikes into storage and he continuously looked for ways to help us cool down and get comfortable. Jerry will fill you with some good stories as he is an Airforce vet, retired police officer, active member in his community, and just a very caring person. Thank you Jerry.

The Katy Junction B&B is definitely a great place to stay. Jerry is a warm, friendly, helpful host who goes out of his way to make his guests feel welcome and comfortable. He's a fine cook and even had chocolate/banana pie waiting after we returned from getting dinner at Casey's. I recommend the Katy Junction B&B to everyone and would plan to stay here again if I were to spend days on the trail again. Thanks, Jerry!

Jerry has thought of everything!!
Bike storage, comfy beds, toiletries, hearty breakfast, full use of the lounge and screened porch. We walked across the road for dinner and arrived back to Jerry's dessert (banana pudding). Jerry is a wonderful host. He even gave us some leftover banana bread to take with us. Do not ride past this place!!

This was our first stop after 25 miles from Sedalia to Pilot Grove. Jerry, the host is the consummate host/chef! Of the 3 places we stayed on our 4 day trek from Sedalia to Jefferson City I enjoyed his breakfast the most! It was hearty and delicious! We are so glad that he has opened his beautiful home to those needing a place for the night from the Trail! The bed was comfortable and the room had everything we needed. We used the hall bathroom which was well stocked with fresh towels and a blow dryer. We would definitely stay there again and recommend it to anyone else traveling along the KT Trail.

I recently stayed at the Katy Junction with my 9 year old son as we traversed the Katy. The accommodations were comfortable and our host was wonderful! Everything was just great!! And, as an added bonus, Pilot Grove has a great community park complete with a swimming pool. We just arrived too late to take advantage of that!!

A very sincere thanks for a wonderful stay!!

Absolutely amazing experience, as usual! The house is lovely and Jerry is a wonderful, gracious host! This was our second year at Katy Junction B&B and it won't be our last. From beautiful accommodations to Jerry's wonderful cooking and company, this is hands down one of my favorite vacation spots. Thanks, Jerry!

Jerry is not only a great cook, he goes out-of-the-way to help out. I'm walking the trail and Jerry picked me up at Boonville and then drove me to Clifton City so I could walk to his B&B and then finish me walk the next day back to my car. He also dried out my very wet clothes having been caught in an unexpected rain shower.

Thanks,

Dude, CA or Klondike kings are sparse here in MO on the trail. You just adjust an sleep diagonal in a regular king. Or just do a bag on the ground at a park an you don't need to worry. Are you under 30 or something? Wow!

Jerry (the owner) is a great guy that helped us out of a jam. He let us pitch our tent in the back yard of the b&b after we found out that there was a wedding reception at the city park that was going to last well past midnight.

We LOVED the Katy Junction B&B! We had planned to camp in the park but were less than thrilled with the yucky bathrooms when we got there. So we called Jerry at the last minute and booked a room for the night. We loved the house, comfy room and the wonderful screened in porch overlooking the Pilot Grove Trailhead (can't get any more conveniently located than that!). Jerry is a wonderful host and a fantastic cook. We enjoyed his company and his delicious breakfast. We'll definitely stay there again!!

Had a great stay. Jerry had everything ready. The rooms are tastefully decorated and comfortable. Upstairs has two bedrooms and a second bathroom. The back yard has seating and tables which is very nice, but the front porch was our favorite. He even locked our bikes in his garage. Jerry is quite the cook and prepared a great dinner and breakfast. No complaints whatsoever.

Loved the house, very cute. Lot of rooms. Jerry was absent most of our stay. His sister took care of breakfast and collecting our money. Breakfast was biscuits and gravy and was delicious. The carpet in our room had not been vacuumed before we arrived. Lots of hair and bits of grass on it. The bathroom was not cleaned well. The bathmat in the tub was slimy, the faucet was still spotted with toothpaste from previous guests, and there was some paper in the bathroom trash. Beds were clean. Everything else looked good. Bikes were locked in the garage overnight for safe storage. Overall, it was a good stay.

Pilot Junction is a pleasant little village along side the Katy Trail. Bike storage in a garage is the best I've encountered from St. Charles. The house and bedrooms are quite inviting. They are not overly decorated and present a pleasant home atmosphere. I visited Joyce's Quilt and Fabric Shop. Joyce Day is a wonderful person to talk with about her passion for quilting. Be sure to visit the 1892 Calaboose.

Jerry, our host, is one of those genuine and kind countryfolk. The only restaurant in town is currently closed for renovation, so he made dinner for us as well. A retired veteran & policeman, he loves to socialize and was full of interesting stories to tell. He is practically a walking encyclopedia as well as a busy, active citizen. We found him quite entertaining. We also found him to be very resourceful and willing to go out of his way to be of help, as I had heat exhaustion and needed a Plan B. He referred me to a shuttle, was happy to drive me to Boonville where I could catch the shuttle to Jeff City. What a blessing!

Jerry is a most gracious and accommodating host and a very good cook. We had a great breakfast the morning before we left Pilot Grove. Everything Jerry provided for my friend and me (clean, comfortable rooms and bathroom; bicycle accessories; etc.) was top-notch, but he topped all of these when he, without hesitation, transported my friend and me more than an hour's drive when my wife had an accident in Nebraska that required hospitalization. Thanks, Jerry, you're a great guy and great host.

While I agree that Jerry is a great guy and a great host, if you're a very private person, I would NOT recommend this place. Jerry can be a little overwhelming. Katy Bikefest in Rocheport is self-service; Jerry is the opposite, always right there to make sure you have everything you need, and to chat. Depending on what you're looking for, this could be the perfect place for you, or not.

BikerBoy from Edwardsville, IL on 07/13/2015 07:11 PM:
I have stayed at quite a few of the B&B's along the trail over the years. Many times, I just want to get up and get on the trail (grab a snack). But there are several for which I will re-arrange my ride to not only stay there, but to make sure I get to converse with the owners. Jerry is one of those. He has a Paul Harvey type of voice and is fun to talk to. But I am sure that if I told him I wanted to leave at 6 a.m. and he could have the morning off, he would respect and appreciate that. Another favorite, Meyer Hilltop (Maggie & Eldon) decided to retire. True gems of people.

The Katy is full of wonderful people and experiences. Take in as much as you can.

I highly enjoyed my stay at the Katy Junction B&B. The place is right near the trail so it was very easy to find and didn't require a lot of additional distance. The place was very clean and orderly and Jerry was a great host. The breakfast was delicious and very filling.

Our first night on the trail was at the Katy junction B&B. We called ahead about two hours out and Jerry met us at the trail head as it was getting dark. Our 62 mile ride took longer than planned (old and out of shape). Jerry asked the local grill to stay open past 8 pm for us. He had the perfect room with three single beds prepared for us, and provided a great breakfast the next morning. This was a great start to our Katy adventure.

My comments are pretty close to the other posts on here. The stay was very good and Jerry is very personable and has a perfect personality for this business. The B&B was in good order and very clean. The breakfast was very good and more than I should have eaten. He has good Internet service for those that need it.

I was there for business and not for biking. He taught me some local history in the area that I was glad to know about. We need to support local businessmen like this.

Stayed at the Katy Junction this year as well and couldn't agree more. Jerry could be a replacement for Paul Harvey -- he has a folksy style and radio voice. Highly recommended.

Stayed here 11/1/14. Loved everything about it. Jerry greeted is on our arrival, helped us get our bikes put up & showed is our rooms. We had the whole upstairs. After we are dinner at Deons we got back & Jerry had cake for us:) Accommodations were wonderful, same with breakfast. Anytime we talk about that place our four kids chant, JERRY, JERRY, JERRY...... They loved him:)
100% recommend.

This property was recently purchased by Jerry who has done a masterful job renovating, decorating and furnishing it. He offers a variety of room types to suit every need including rooms with one, two or three beds and a honeymoon suite. Bathrooms are shared and laundry facilities are available. Located right off the Katy Trail and very close to Deon's Bar and Grill, probably the only place for dinner in Pilot Grove. Jerry is extremely friendly, helpful and informative and even served us a chocolate banana pudding after we returned from dinner. Provided a hearty breakfast of bacon, eggs, toast, etc. Room prices are extremely reasonable so a great place to stay while biking the Katy Trail.

Stayed at KJBB after day 3 of a 4 day end to end ride. Jerry greated us with cold drinks when we arrived and again after a meal at Deon's. Jerry is a great and personable host. We enjoyed his company and a great breakfast the next morning to start the final day. Bikes were locked in the garage. Highly recommend KJBB.

I also stayed at KJBB on the night of October 1 when I was caught in Pilot Grove during a severe thunderstorm. I agree that Jerry is a great host, his prices are very reasonable, and the breakfast was great. I found the community of Pilot Grove to be very welcoming. Deon's has great food. Both Jerry and Deon's provided shelter for me and my bike during a storm which lasted until late morning the next day.

We stayed @ Katy Junction B&B in September and found the accomodations to be comfortable--- I loved sitting on the screened-in front porch! Jerry is a friendly and hospitable host. Great location and reasonable price.

Stayed at Katy Juncion B&B while biking the Katy Trail recently. Very good experience. Jerry is a really friendly guy. The house is right next to the trail and is very nice. Breakfast was very good. Secure place to store bikes. Couldn't ask for a more convenient and pleasant place to stay.

Staying at Katy Junction B&B was one of the highlights of our Katy Trail ride. Jerry says he likes to spoil his guests, and he really does. The hospitality was outstanding, the accommodations were excellent, our bikes were safe, and Jerry makes the best breakfast on the trail. In our conversations with Jerry, we learned a lot about the history of Pilot Grove. All in all, I HIGHLY recommend Katy Junction B&B.

Glad Jerry is the way he is, a graceous, amazingly thoughtful host. Everyone should know ( especially cyclists ) Jerry is a genuine friend. The flat tire scenario I had to face was somewhat complex due to a non-standard inner tube. just as I was about to give up and cancel my entire trip Jerry's encouragement and assistance was the difference maker that got me back on the KATY.

It was a great place to stay! Jerry is a great host and makes a fantastic breakfast! Enjoyed sitting around socializing with the other guests on the screened in porch. Bike was stored safely in the garage overnight.
