Katy-Rock Junction Campground

I stayed in a cabin at the Katy-Rock Junction campground the first night of my trip. It was great to ride in, meet Charley and have a cold beer. My cabin was compact, but super clean and comfortable. The washroom was only 10 yards away, also super clean with plenty of hot water. Met some great people who were camping there and can't recommend this place enough!

Right on, Kevin. I stayed there last month and found that place to be awesome too. Charlie is the coolest guy and that place is super clean. I posted a Google Review, but thought I'd throw my two cents in here too.

The Katy-Rock Junc is a great little stop. My wife and I stayed there last Oct when we rode the KT. Only less than 20 miles from Clinton, but after a 5 hour drive from OKC, we were happy with a shorter first day ride.

Is Dale not there anymore?

Hello,

Is there an easy way to access the Rock Island trail from the Katy Trail at Windsor? Is there a path where the two trails intersect?

Thanks!

10/19/2022 - This was my third Katy Trail ride. I had planned to camp but found out that Katy-Rock had small cabins. The temperature was going to near freezing so I called Dale and opted for a cabin. As I arrived from Clinton right at sunset, the cabin was great for $45 (tax included). Dale was very helpful and showed me everything I needed and pointed out nearby food options. One other guy already had a tent setup and we chatted for a few minutes before I got a shower and headed to a warm cabin. The cabins have electricity, beds with sheets and pillows. I was in the Rock Island cabin which had two sets of bunk beds (4 beds total). Since it was just me, I had enough room to bring my bike with panniers inside. The bathroom was heated and spotless. Shower had plenty of hot water and good pressure. There is also a bike storage shed which looked nice. The campground was immaculate and had fire rings and picnic tables. The camper had a fire going and said the firewood was free. I plan on stopping in Windsor on future trips and staying here. Highly recommend Katy-Rock Junction. Maybe the best place to stay on the trail.

I camped here one night coming from the Rock Island Trail to the Katy Trail. Dale was a great host. Showers/restroom was great to have. pleanty of grassed area to sleep. A bit of noise from the Casey's about 200 yds away. Right on the trail. I would recommend!

Stayed in one of Dales cabin a few nights on our end to end to end Katy Trail ride on our human powered fat tire bikes. It was a great break from camping and everything was clean and as expected. We also got a shuttle from Dale to Pleasant Hill to ride the Rock Island Spur back to Windsor.

The hammock sites are ready for use. They are in a shady area, and there is space to set up a tent close by. The cost is $13.

Are the Hammock Campsites ready yet? How much are they, are they in the shade and could we put a small tent by a couple hammocks?

I camped last night at Katy-Rock Junction. I will ditto the clean grounds, restrooms and showers. The garage was very nice to secure your bike for the evening. With the recent thunderstorms, the garage gave me an option to go to if the weather got bad. Also there is an old root cellar if the storms became severe. Windsor is a nice town and a great spot to overnight.

Best campgrounds we have found on all of the trail. Super clean and quiet. Very good prices and very convenient to the trail and town. The owner was very nice and helpful. Let's you lock your bikes in the building there.

Spent three nights there with a group during the last two weeks. The location is perfect, the facilities are outstanding, and Dale is a wonderful host. I could not be happier with the accommodations or the price. I highly recommend Katy-Rock Junction for anyone biking through Windsor.

Camped in a tent on 8-10-18. Everything was great. There is shade for tents, a men's and women's bathroom with showers. It was $12 plus tax. There's a laundry & Casey's General Store less than a quarter mile away. There are air conditioned cabins there too.
