Wineries & Breweries along the Katy Trail
The Katy Trail just happens to cut through Missouri Wine Country, and numerous
wineries are easily accessible from the trail.
You can combine your Katy Trail tour with a wine tasting tour,
sampling some fine nationally-recognized wines along the way.
Highway 94, which the Katy Trail follows for nearly 100 miles, is often called
the "Missouri Weinstrasse", German for "wine road".
German immigrants settled in this area in the 1800's, bringing their wine-making traditions
to the fertile soil and grape-friendly climate of this region.
Many of the towns near the weinstrasse still retain that German flavor.
We've also included micro-breweries in this list, for those who prefer the grain over the grape.
This list includes some Missouri towns that are not directly on the Katy Trail,
but are within easy biking distance.
