Alice from Columbia on 9/15/2008 1:10:54 AM:
Does anyone know anything about the haunted bridge on the Katy trail in the Columbia area? Legend says that "Under a bridge on the Katy trail only on full moons you can see a young man with a missing left arm walk back and forth with no facial expression." I'm trying to find the bridge: the mile marker it's by or any other information about it.

Thanks.

That's no ghost. It's Greg aka gc from Columbis

Doug from Bluffton on 9/17/2008 11:06:48 PM:
I believe that is down by the Auxvasse.

Not me, Doug. I still have both arms and I am definitely not a young man ... though I often smell like I a dead.

What is the life expectancy of a ghost?

Sarah J Eber from Hartsburg on 3/16/2017 9:57:24 AM:
Life expectancy is related to what is keeping them here... if something bad happened... they might be there a long time... if they are there for mischief... they won't stay long unless they have people to tease...He may be there to protect...if that is the case... say a prayer or a word of thanks as you pass!

Stu from Lee's Summit on 3/16/2017 10:07:00 AM:
He may be there looking for his arm.

Sarah J, is that documented somewhere or just a myth born of the spring polecat stench?

BikerBoy from Maryville, IL on 3/16/2017 12:18:30 PM:
I don't know about the life expectancy of a ghost, but the life expectancy of a forum thread about it has now been proven to be 8.5 years. :)
