This through-rider from out of town is seeking input from some locals about an alternative. A quick look at a map shows State Route K connects in Pierpoint with State Route N that appears to go to Easley. Are these roads safe for biking? Does that route make sense?

Take a look at the thread "Bridge closures on the Katy Trail" below. The last post today includes a link to a google map of the detour using route K.

Route K has a narrow bike lane but once you get on Hwy 163 and route N you will be riding on hilly, curvey, country road blacktop with no shoulder. Really depends on how comfortable you are in that kind of environment.
