Want to walk the Columbia spur and spend the night in Columbia to walk back the next day. Want to start in mcBaine and have the one way mileage to be around 10-11 miles. Anyone know where the spur ends in Columbia and could recommend a place to day (B&b preferably but hotel ok).

There's a whole page here about the Columbia spur including some comments of where to stay.
I've only ridden it once, but seem to remember that it's close to some major roads which have hotels.

The Columbia trail spur ends downtown between at corner of Cherry and Fourth Street. Two nice upscale hotels near there. The Tiger and a newish Doubletree. They are about 6 to 8 blocks from the trailhead. If you wanted to pull off a bit before then, you could take the Hinkson Creek spur between Forum Rd and Stadium Blvd and that would take you Providence Road, which is near the Stoney Creek Inn. Last mile or so of the Columbia spur is the nicest part, IMHO.

As noted - nice hotels right downtown as you finish. Won't be cheap, but they are nice.
I also like the Broadway Diner right downtown as you finish the walk.
