Is the ride out of Pleasant Hill mostly shaded or mostly sunny? Anything newsworthy (or rideworthy) to note, say within 10 miles of Pleasant Hill?

We've ridden 10+ miles out from Pleasant Hill several times and this is mostly shady, some sunny spots. Very pretty though foliage along the trail is overgrown in several areas. Not really a problem, we just watch for it so we don't get smacked. There may be a few rough spots depending on recent rains.

Pleasant Hill 10 miles out is in very good condition with lots of foilage/coverage. I'd say the only issue is just getting from the parking lot to the start of the trail. See my other post on Rock Island conditions.
