We spent the night at the Globe Hotel in Hartsburg on our trip across the Katy. This is the forth time we have stayed and it keeps getting better. Leia had wonderful homeade cookies and hot apple cider waiting when we arrived on this cold day. That was greatly appreciated. Leia and Mark are doing such nice job of getting the place fixed up and well decorated. They are personable hosts and we always enjoy spending time with them. They made dinner and breakfast for us; both were excellent. The omelet that Mark fixed was very good. Although they do not have private baths there are several bathrooms and nice cozy robes in each room. We always feel very comfortable here.
It is too bad Dotty's is not open on a consistent basis, one that the Globe and the riders can depend on. It would be wonderful if someone bought Dottys and provided a nice place to eat on this portion of the trail.
