This may have been discussed but will the Labadie end eventually be connected back west to Washington to cross over the Missouri River to the Katy trail?

I found a route, out of Labadie get on Highway T west to Old Highway 100 and it will take you into Washington. Thanks Loopies !

The rail line east of Beaufort is still used so no possibility of a trail till it is abandoned, if ever. Your Hwy T route will work.

I don't like the hills and lack of shoulder on T. I'd take Hwy 100 to Gray Summit, Old Rt66/100 to new 100 back to old 100. Or if you really want to avoid traffic from T and 100, Melrose to Allenton 6 Flags through Greensfelter Park to old Rt66 and to Washington from there. But your route straight out T is shortest.

The Rock Island trail will end in Beaufort (assuming it ever gets built) and not Labadie.
