It was getting dark at Clinton (coming off the trail from St. Louis, pedaling on to KC area and Lawrence). We rode a couple miles west of Clinton on Route 7 (good shoulder) to the Haysler A Poague Conservation Area. Just a little state-owned swampland and a roadside park. Got out into the shrub away from the highway and camped. I've seen conflicting information on whether this was an 'approved' camping spot, but worked fine. The ride into KC worked pretty well from Clinton (up to Blairstown, over to Garden City, etc).
