My wife and I drove our car down to Jefferson City so we could ride the Katy Trail while we were on vacation. We just got back to our car and discovered I lost the key somewhere along the way. We didn't have an extra key for our RX300.
I called A-1 Mobile Lock and Key and a very nice man responded to help us. His name was Robert I believe, he explained that our 2001 Lexus RX300 had a chip in the key. He told us it was very expensive to replace one of these keys, about $2000.00 if they are all lost.
I asked him what he could do so we could go home.
He explained he could reprogram the cars computer, make us new keys and the charge for everything would be about $500.00. That sure sounded better than $2000.00, so we told him to do it. It took about 1 hr for him to complete the process, he explained everything he was doing while he was doing it. It was amazing how he could do that.
It was a expensive bike ride, but it could have been a lot worse if we had to be towed to a Lexus dealer and then spend $2000 on top of it.
