Our family would like to ride the Katy trail . Is there anywhere we could rent a electric bike for our disabled son. He is 15. The bike would need three wheels.

That will show you all the shops. Then, you just smile and dial!

An electric trike is a pretty specialized piece of rental equipment. If none of the places along the trail have one, maybe try bike shops in St Louis.
