Just home from my first overnight on the Katy Trail. What a gem you guys have here. Been wanting to do this for years, but things come up. This could be done with existing trails systems in our area, but the vision seems to be lacking. As I told my friend, I'm dirty, dusty, and completely satisfied. I'm already planning my thru ride for next fall. I need to see more. Everyone I met was friendly and welcoming. Wow. just an amazing trip. 400,000 visitors a year!

Perry, glad you got to enjoy "our little secret". I think about the potential that the Hennepin Canal / Illinois & Michigan trails have for your area, and it's a shame that they are not upgraded. The tourism could be very beneficial, especially when you consider that Starved Rock State Park is right in the middle and is Illinois' most popular state park.
