The west end of the trail (west of Boonville) is rolling hills while the east end is pretty flat following along the Missouri River. Most people would start at Rocheport because it has excellent access off of I-70 and features the most scenic stretches of bluffs on one side and the Missouri River on the other as you ride east (or as you ride back west after your turnaround point). If you are wanting to complete an out and back century, then this is the perfect stretch where you miss all of the current detours off of the trail (even if the detours are pretty short) and the trailheads with water are well spaced out.
