I love riding the Katy, but my wife has had two knee replacements and we are in our late 60's. Is it legal to ride 'motorized' bicycles on the trail? Not a motorcycle, but one of those 'motorized bicycles. I hope so so that she can join me next time.

If by motorized you mean electric, then yes it’s OK. If you mean by motorized as in gas powered, then no, that is not OK.

Then you also need to be prepared if the electric bike runs out of juice. Not saying it will but have a plan in case it does.

Thank you That is just the information that I need.

I will add (and not meant to shame anyone).ive had both knees replaced and I find it easier to ride now than before the replacements. That said, if you feel more comfortable with an e-bike, get one and enjoy the Katy!,

The state parks probably have some restrictions on the speed of the assisted bikes. Check their site.
