Would I be able to bike from the Clinton trail head to the Hampton Inn (I believe this is the closest lodging from the trail head) without getting on the highway? Or does the hotel offer a shuttle? It did not mention one on their website.

Yes, it looks like an easy ride to the trail head from the Hampton through city streets. As for hotel shuttles, best you contact the hotel directly, but I doubt you would really need a shuttle.
