My husband and I are planning a ride from St. Charles to Rocheport, starting next Wednesday. I just saw that the trail is closed from MM116-118 and that there is no suggested detour. How closed is it? Would it be possible for us to walk our bikes for the rough parts? We are from out of town and will have to completely change our plans if it's impassable. I'd rather do that now than when we get there and have no cell service. Thanks in advance!

It is very easy to ride around. Page 2 of this forum has directions.

As Doug mentioned, the rock slide has an easy detour. You are on a nice road for less than a half mile. Just don't try to go over the rock slide.

The Salt Creek bridge closure at MM 178 to 181 is a different matter. Easy if the creek is dry but difficult otherwise. If you are only going from St. Charles to Rocheport, you don't have to worry about it.
