We had the pleasure of finding the General Store for lunch on our bike ride from Boonville to McBaine. We were thrilled because they had AC and water. The fact that the food was delicious was a blessing. Between the six of us, we had tuna salad, open face brisket sandwich, and deli sandwich (turkey). And we all had dessert - ice cream, chocolate cupcake with a meringue frosting, and 3 pieces of chocolate/peanut butter pie. Again - delicious! The staff was friendly as were the other diners! We were given a pitcher of cold water to fill our water bottles and allowed to charge our cell phones.
We highly recommend you grab a bite to eat hear along the way! (And have a piece of that chocolate & peanut butter pie if they have it!!). You will be glad you stopped!!
