I live 2 miles from the stadiums. I have ridden Rock Island from the stadiums to the Vale Tunnel.
I have a goal to ride from the Stadiums to Pleasant Hill ( I know a short ride, but I am a novice)
Should I use Google Maps to find the best route from the Trail Head in Lees Summit to Pleasant Hill or do you all have a preferred route. I plan on staying in PH for the evening and then riding back home.
Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

Do you like to ride on the shortest route even if there is a fair amount of traffic and no shoulders? Or do you want the absolute easiest, low traffic route that takes a longer, winding route to Pleasant Hill? If you want the long, low-traffic route, then use the paved bike trail/sidewalk (8' wide paved trail on the west side of Ward) along Ward Road all the way down to 150 Hwy. Then use the 150 Hwy. sidewalks east under Hwy. 291 and then turn right onto the southbound east outer road into Greenwood. Wind through all of the Greenwood residential subdivisions to South Allendale Lake Road and use that winding route to link up with the Pleasant Hill MOPAC Rock Island Trail connector. South Allendale Lake Road changes names about 4 times as it winds towards Pleasant Hill and the pavement is not in great condition, but that also means fewer cars.

Mark, I appreciate the info and I see where you are talking about on Maps. I would prefer less traffic, so is 150 Hwy from Ward to Bellflower recommended for a beginner? Or would I be better off riding the subdivision. Only thing I see with the subdivision off of the outer road is only one street connects to Bellflower, as most of the subdivision streets are all cul-de-sacs.
It will be nice when this trail connects PH to LS
Thanks again!

So the long, winding route through Greenwood is south from 150 on the east outer road, turns left onto Saddlebrook, turn left (north) on Doc Henry, right onto Cherokee, right onto 20th, left onto Allendale Drive, and right onto South Allendale Lake Road. You can ride the half mile east on the two lane road of 150 Hwy. straight to Doc Henry, but I enjoy a more relaxed winding ride even if it is longer.

Where did you find a one night lodging in P Hill? Or is it friends/family? The AirBnb in P Hill has a two night minimum which is problematic for my upcoming trip as a through traveler.
