We took Amtrak from Jefferson City to Hermann on Monday. We stayed at the Crown. It is well set up for bicyclists and excellent staff. After a lot of rain in Hermann on Monday 7/12/21, we took to the trail from McKittrick to N. Jefferson on Tuesday. There were people working on getting the trail. The trail was rough in many places but completely open. The key was to take it easy. If we were riding fast it could have been disastrous. There were many washboard conditions and areas that the trail had deep mud/sand. Each day without rain will make it an easier ride. Best of luck!
