Since it seems the Salt Creek bridge between Boonville and Rocheport will be out for a while, can anyone confirm that this could be a good ridearound to recommend to the dozens of people who ask about it?

Keeps them off Hwy 40. Not sure what the condition of those backroads is.

On the two FaceBook groups ("KATY Trail Rider Group" & "Fans of the Katy Trail Group"), several posts about it including even walking across if/when the water level is low, which isn't the case now due to recent heavy rains.

Gary I think he's asking about an alternate route that does NOT involve getting on the 55 MPH 40 Hwy. The link he posted shows what appears to be a scenic gravel route with a few hundred feet of hills involved.

Yes, what MapMedic said. A far less death-defying route. Adds ~180 feet of vertical.
