Susan (Rude) Wilkerson from New Franklin, MO on 10/18/2021 5:29:32 PM:
I was told by my father, Roy H. Rude, who worked for the Katy 48 years (5 years on the section gang and 43 years as a brakeman and conductor) that his grandfather, George W. Welbern, who was a section foreman on the Katy Railroad from about 1880 to 1929, placed that logo on the bluff sometime before his retirement. My grandfather, Harry L. Rude, replaced his father-in-law (George Welbern) in that position 1929.
I hope this logo will continue to be restored and maintained.
