My husband and I recently purchases pedal assist bicycles. We are quickly becoming addicted. We are looking for a hotel close to the bike trails. We are older and would probably only ride for an hour or so. We are thinking about booking the Frederick hotel but would like other suggestions for future weekends. Thank you in advance.

The Hotel Frederick in Boonville is a great stay.

We have also enjoyed The Hotel Bothwell in Sedalia, The Schoolhouse B&B and their dormitory in Rocheport, and several B&B's in Hermann. Hermann is a bit farther to drive from KC but well worth the trip for wonderful lodging (Hermann Hill Vineyard or River Bluff Cottages, Inns at Hermannhof), food, and wineries, etc.

Am curious to know, if you would, what bikes you ride that are addicting?

Happy Trails!

I have the aventon adventure and my husband has the radrover 6. The aventon adventure is our favorite of the two. Thank you for the great suggestions.

It's good to read a post from other seniors who want to take it a bit easier and smell the flowers along the way! For a luxury stay the Grand Victorian in Boonville was great; and their website is live so I guess they are still in business.
Les Lavandes near Starkenburg was wonderful with great rooms, a hot tub and a lovely dinner but I am not sure it is still in business; they still have a Facebook page though. Good luck

I have Kim's Cabins in Windsor, so close to KC. I have many guests stay multiple nights to cycle out and enjoy our rural area and Amish community. We're the crossroads of the Katy and Rock Island so three directions to ride. Happy to visit any time to help you plan.

Visit the White Wolf Inn guest house in the Rhineland Mo. area.
It is 1 mile north of the katy trail on highway P.

Yes, I will toot my own horn. Joey's Birdhouse right on the trail at the 100.8 mile marker. 2 miles from Hermann. Not so luxurious but right on the trail, covered bike parking with space to recharge your bikes and does include a great breakfast, snacks and some beverages left in your room. Hope to see you soon!

I like Joys Birdhouse in Mckittrick and Kim's in Windsor.

The Katy junction B&B is 100 feet from the down town trail head open 12 months a year. Close to places to eat in the evening, 25 miles west of Rocheport 25 miles east of Sedalia.
