Barb & Jim from Cleveland Ohio on 5/9/2022 4:50:25 PM:
We stayed at Kim's Cabins April 28-29, 2022 after a wet ride from Pilot Grove. The cabins are just a short distance from the trail and also near the Rock Island Spur. We arrived later than we had planned, but Kim left instructions for getting into our cabin and arrived to greet us shortly afterward. We were able to hose down our bikes and store them in the locked garage.
The cabin was lovely and immaculately clean. If we had chosen to cook, all the necessary supplies were there. Better than cooking, Kim pointed us to 3 very nice restaurants within walking/ biking distance: Judy's Restaurant, Wagon Wheel and El Jalisco. All were very good with nice, clean welcoming interiors. We ate dinner at Judy's on April 28, breakfast at the Wagon Wheel on April 28 and 29, and dinner at El Jalisco on April 29 & 30. Prices were reasonable and portions were just right (generous at El Jalisco's).
Kim has great knowledge of and enthusiasm for the Katy Trail and the Rock Island Spur and willing shared. Her enthusiasm is contagious.
After our first night in the cabin, we planned to bike the Rock Island Spur, but heavy rains that night made the ride doubtful. In the morning, Kim met us and told us that she had a cancellation and if we wanted to stay an extra night, she would hold it for us. We attempted the Spur, but found it too soft, so we returned for a second night.
We are glad we chose Kim's Cabins for the comfort, convenience, and the use of Kim as a resource. We're looking forward to a future visit where we can build a fire in the fire ring and visit with the neighbors!
