Got into Rhineland just after noon on a Sunday - we were riding fast to beat an approaching storm. Good news: the Sunday brunch buffet was available until 1:00. Delicious. Bad news: They close at 2:00 on Sunday and there was nothing else open in Rhineland. But we were forewarned and got takeout for dinner - also very good - and our story had a happy ending.

The Corner in Rhineland suffered a fire yesterday. I hope they will rebuild.
If you are on the trail and had planned to eat in Rhineland the closest food that I know of will be at Loutre Market in McKittrick. It is an easy ride on the shoulder of Hwy 19 just south of the trail. Loutre Market has a deli counter with sandwiches, fried chicken, etc.
