I am an out-of-stater following the Missouri flooding on the news today, and was just wondering if the locals can provide any reports.
I rode the trail up and back from July 10-19, and it seemed like there were a lot of areas that had been flooded in the past, but were in very good condition then because of the great maintenance. I hope there isn't too much damage now.
I got rained on for most of one day, and started riding at sunrise on the other days to avoid the extreme heat of the afternoons. The Katy Trail was an amazing experience that I hope to relive in a couple years or so.
I hope everyone in Missouri is safe, and that the trail and all the nearby people and businesses are doing ok during the flooding.
