Planning a trip to ride from Clinton to Machens but looking for optional routes to get me back to Clinton....any ideas welcome.

I biked into St Louis (crossing the river at Alton) from Machens and took Amtrak to Sedalia and biking back to Clinton. You can also take the train from Kirkwood.
